Top formations are very deceptive.  The reason is that you never know how far down the price will move once the lower float channel is crossed.  It might find support and bounce higher, it might move a little ways lower and then find support and move higher or it might just keep on dropping.  It's only in hind sight that we can clearly state that a top has been put in.  There are many varieties of top formations.
